Foster’s Wine Estates

Location

St. Helena - Asti - Cloverdale - Napa, CA

Description

Beringer Vineyards hosts a 1,341.2 kW DC system, which was the largest operational solar PV installation at a winery in the United States at the time of installation. Additionally, Beringer’s sister winery at Asti (now Cellar 8) hosts the third largest system of its kind, producing 1,152.1 kW DC. Combined with the solar arrays installed at Etude (103.5 kW DC) and Stags’ Leap (225.8 kW DC), the four systems produce over 2.8 MW DC of clean solar electricity and occupy over 400,000 square feet of total rooftop structures.

The energy generated by the solar arrays will reduce more than 11,000 tons of carbon dioxide pollution over 25 years, which is the equivalent to planting 130 acres of trees or not driving 28 million miles.

Note: Since these solar PV systems were installed in 2008, Fosters Wine Estates changed to Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) and is still benefiting form the reduced energy costs provided by the solar energy systems they host. Please contact us to learn more about Solar for Wineries.
